Annie grew up in Newton playing town and travel (BAYS) soccer before becoming a four-year starter as goalkeeper on Newton South High School’s varsity soccer team and captain her senior year. During this time, Annie was a three-time Dual County League All-Star. Also at Newton South, Annie was a four-year member of the varsity basketball and softball teams and captained both her senior year. She was inducted into the Newton South High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. After high school, Annie attended Tufts University and for all four years she played on the varsity soccer team and the softball team, and she was captain of both her senior year. For soccer, Annie was the starting goalkeeper her junior and senior years, and in her junior year Tufts made it to the NCAA Division III Final Four. After college, Annie played various sports, including rugby, team handball, and flag football.
For soccer coaching, Annie helped train the goalies at Tufts University in 2007, and for multiple years she conducted goalie trainings for Newton South. Also in 2012, Annie was the head coach of the junior varsity boys middle school soccer team at Shady Hill School in Cambridge. Annie was thrilled to join the NGS and Academy coaching ranks in 2025 and she has really enjoyed coaching the next generation of Newton soccer players. While coaching, Annie is usually wearing a hat and sunglasses.
Professionally, Annie studied law at Boston University and she was a corporate tax attorney for 12 years. In the fall of 2025, Annie decided to pursue her passion and she started her business, Lawless Upcycling, through which she makes one-of-a-kind home furnishings and costumes from discarded wood and metal. As part of her business, Annie teaches folks how to upcycle and create in an environmentally-conscious way. In her spare time, Annie enjoys spending time with her wife and three dogs, going to concerts and live shows, and watching tv and movies.
