NGS City Program

Season Schedules

The City Program is a recreation-focused soccer experience that emphasizes fun, health and exercise. Players work on soccer skills and teamwork during a weekly team practice consisting of various FUN activities and scrimmage games, then put those skills into action on game day against the other NGS teams in their age group. Players may join a team for the fall and/or spring seasons. Although the program is designed to be very flexible, players are expected to regularly attend practices and games.

Game Time
Game Time

All City games are held on Saturdays at 1:00 pm or 2:20 pm at Brown / Oak Hill. (The schedule rotates throughout the season.) The match schedule is posted in TeamSnap just before the start of the season. Players should arrive 15 minutes before kickoff so that games can start on time!

Practice Time
Practice Time

Teams will practice once per week and may begin the week leading up to the season opener.  Practice time and location are determined after teams are announced and will depend on field and coach availability. After teams are announced, coaches will reach out to families to discuss practice.

Teams

Team Assignments

City players are placed on grade-level teams with the goal of creating equally balanced teams.  NGS is a community program, not a school-based program. Therefore, we purposely create teams with girls from multiple neighboring schools and honor only one mutual friend request per player. Teams are generally mixed up from year-to-year and sometimes season-to-season so that players have the opportunity to:

  • Develop good sportsmanship skills, winning some games and losing some games
  • Develop social skills, playing with friends and making new friends
  • Develop soccer skills, learning from multiple coaches

Families are notified about their fall team placements by email in late August and their spring team placements in late March. Please help your daughter have a positive soccer experience by supporting her assigned team.
