Newton Girls Soccer offers multiple ways for motivated girls to improve their soccer skills and become better players. The Skills Development (SD) Program was created expressly for this purpose. Girls in the SD Program get an extra hour of practice every week and player-focused training by the NGS Professional Coaching Staff. The SD Program is open to all players in K through Grade 8. We offer grade and age-appropriate tactical training and skills development, as well as specialty clinics for players interested in improving specific aspects of their game.
As a club, we aim to develop skilled, confident and creative soccer players in a FUN, positive learning environment. The winter curriculum is designed to develop soccer skills through Futsal. Players will receive instruction at a level that will both challenge them and ensure that they have fun. Our professional, qualified coach and assistants will cover different topics each week, focusing on the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, receiving, and finishing. Small group sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each individual player in the session. We accept 10 – 12 participants per session to keep our player to coach ratio low.
Aside from being fun, Futsal can be great for soccer development. The fast-paced, smaller play style forces focus on ball control and technique that can greatly enhance your performance in a traditional soccer game. In addition, the game regularly brings players into one-on-one situations that require them to think quickly and creatively to beat their opponent.
This winter, we will offer two six-week sessions. There is no training during public school holidays (Jan 19, Feb 16, 17, 18, 21, 28). Although we expect the program to fill up quickly, please only register if your child is 100% committed to participating. Fees will not be prorated for missed classes. Refund Policy
