City Uniforms

The uniform for all girls playing in the City Program (Grades 3-9) is a reversible (orange on one side, white on the other), numbered NGS jersey. Jerseys have the player’s last name printed on the orange side and you may select your own jersey number.  Players may wear any color soccer shorts, socks, and shin guards; these items are available through our online store or can be purchased on your own from any retailer.

Order your City jersey via the NGS Online Store.  Jerseys cost $38 and are available in sizes Youth Small – Adult XLarge.  Your order will be shipped directly to you from our vendor and generally within 10-12 days.  However, we recommend that you place your order at least three weeks before the season begins to ensure that your player has a jersey for the first game.

Because these are custom orders, no returns or refunds are accepted.  We suggest that you confirm the size before placing an order.  Sample sizes are available to try on at Great Harvest Bread:

316 Walnut St, Newtonville, MA 02460

You only need to order a jersey if your daughter doesn’t have one, if her current jersey no longer fits, or if you want one with her last name printed on it.

If you have any questions about your order, please call Number One Source customer service at 617-593-7865 or e-mail  Other questions can be directed to

Due to supply chain issues, our usual reversible orange and white jersey (left) is out of stock until October. Small, medium and large youth sizes are currently affected.

Orders placed in August may have received a new style (right). The new orange and white reversible jersey will have the logo and number printed on the orange side only.

Orders placed in September will ship as soon as additional stock is located.

In the meantime, your daughter may wear an orange or white t-shirt for games.

Other Soccer Gear

In addition to the NGS Jersey, each player needs their own:

  • Soccer ball (Grades 3-6 use size 4. Grades 7 – 9 use size 5.)
  • Water bottle
  • Shin-guards
  • Soccer socks to cover shin-guards
  • Cleats
  • Goal Keeper Gloves

If your daughter has never worn shin guards before, please watch this brief video on how to wear shin guards and soccer socks:

Goal Keeper Gloves

Players cannot share goalie gloves in 2021 – 2022, so must either have their own pair to wear when they play goalkeeper or plan to play barehanded.  Most players are more comfortable wearing gloves.  We are strongly recommending that all players in grades 3 – 5 own a pair of gloves, as everyone must take a turn as goalkeeper.  Players in grades 6 – 8 who play goalkeeper should also have a pair of gloves.

Goal keeper gloves do not fit like regular gloves. Please click here for sizing instructions. Generally, younger / smaller kids use size 6 and bigger / older kids use size 7.

For convenience, gloves are available to purchase for $15 from our online store. (You are welcome to use any vendor.) If this purchase presents a financial hardship, please contact for help.
